Well luckily you have lots of amazing locations right here in this dynamic city! Philadelphia runs the gamut from historic to modern from urban to green. Your engagement photos are an oportunity to express who you are as a couple. Do you love dressing up and sipping wine at a happy hour downtown? Or are you two more likely to be found on the hiking trails of the Wissahickon with your pup? Whoever you are, be you! There is no one season for engagement session and can be done any time of year and highlight the beauty of the season and the excitement of your engagement. I have to admit I have a specail place in my heart for engagement sessions. They are a wonderful oportunity to get to know the couple before the wedding day and ease any fears about being in front of the camera. Old City is full of historic locations, cobblestone and charm. There are so many great places for photos. The Merchants’ Exchange Building can be a nice stop. Just keep in mind that some of the most popular locations are part of the National Park and you will need a permit to photograph there. These locations include(but are not limited to) the Magnolia Garden, Rose Garden, 18th Century Garden, Benjamin Rush Garden The Second Bank of the United States. A true oasis in Philadelphia is the Wissahickon Valley Park with wonderful wooded land and hiking trails. It’s a sweet location is perfect for nature lovers. It’s truly a breath of fresh air. There are many different pull offs and parking to enter this woodsy wonderland. Valley Green Inn is a great option.

Boathouse Row offers a variety of different backdrops by the water, along the popular paths and we even crossed the street to Lemon Hill. In the spring you can catch some pretty blossoms too! Just keep in mind on some weekends there can be events and regattas do be sure to check their event schedule before to head over.

Along the Parkway there are some iconic options for photos! The Philadelphia Museum of Art course and the close by Rodin Museum has a lovely courtyard.
Center City Philadelphia is a wonderful options for engagement photos! There is always a buzz in the air and no shortage of interesting spots for awesome photos. Broad street, also known as the Avenue of the Arts, makes a great place for photos. The Union League steps and of course the classic Broad Street photo.
