When it comes to choosing an engagement photo location, many couples like to choose a place that has special meaning in their relationship. Sometimes couples will choose the place they met, a location of a date, or even just a location they find to be really beautiful. Eric and Allison chose Livezey Rock (or Climbers Rock) in Wissahickon Valley Park for their Philadelphia rock climbing engagement session because it is one of their favorite Philadelphia locations and a place they visit often.
“We chose the Wissahickon because we spend a lot of time exploring the park. Livezey Rock is where we had our second date, a place where we continue to practice our climbing skills.”
I love that they tied in one of the activities they enjoy doing together for their engagement photos.
This picturesque location is in Philadelphia’s Wissahickon Valley Park. With nearly 2,000 acres of land, there were many great spots to get the perfect engagement photos. It was my first time at this specific part of the park and wow it was pretty! I love it when couples introduce me to new locations. Livezey Rock has an impressive view of the river and foliage.
One of my favorite things to hear from an engaged couple is their proposal story. Eric and Allison had a very romantic proposal story and it tied in perfectly with their engagement photo session location.
“We connected over our mutual love for the outdoors. Eric proposed during one of our rock climbing adventures. He left the ring at the top of a climb for me to see.”
This mid-November engagement session proves that late fall is still quite nice for photos. Around the river there was a perfect amount of fall foliage to add bit of orange and yellow to their photos. Although it was late fall, the weather was still comfortable enough to ditch the jackets. The peacefulness of the park and the water made the day even more magical. They really chose a nature-filled location that highlighted their love for the outdoors.
Another important part of an engagement photo session is of course the engagement ring! The ring they chose was extra special and personal:
“The engagement ring is made by Trang Dai from Canada on Etsy (TDNcreations). The ring represents the rock climbing tie-in knot, the figure 8, which represents dependability.”
All engagement rings are special to a couple, and Allison’s ring was no different. I love the delicate look of the stones in the figure 8 shape!
I can’t wait to photograph their upcoming spring wedding which will also be in Wissahickon Park at the lovely Valley Green Inn.
