In the winter the area surrounding Philadelphia City Hall and Love Park is transformed into a winter wonderland. Having a wedding during this time of year can be memorable and festive. This couple had their wedding ceremony right in front of the Love Park Statue in the middle of the holiday market. The Fairmount Park Conservancy hosts “Wedding Wednesdays” where you can book a 30-minute time slot for ceremonies including an officiant to marry you. Winter Wedding Look
For an outside winter wedding ceremony you do have to consider the cold weather when putting together your wedding day look. I love this bride’s floor-length dress and long sleeves as well as her elegant shrug that kept her cozy and stylish. You never know exactly what the weather will be on your wedding day, but in December you can pretty much count on it being chilly!
Christmas Village Market in Philadelphia
In the weeks leading up to Christmas the area around Philadelphia City Hall becomes a hustling and bustling market where you can find all kinds of unique holiday gifts, sip hot cider, and enjoy the holiday spirit. It is a fun place to visit and shop and it is also possible to get married right in the midst of the fun. You can’t be shy to choose this sort of wedding as you will have people strolling by as you say your vows. It really is a public display of love right in the middle of the city!
Wedding Photos around City Hall
Even with a chill in the air, we were able to find many pretty stops for photos. The twinkling lights of the gigantic Christmas tree made a beautiful location for a few photos of the bride and groom. We walked around the City Hall Plaza which has beautiful architecture and lovely archways leaning to the center courtyard. Philadelphia city hall is a destination location for wedding day photos so it was not hard to find beautiful places for photos of the bride and groom on their wedding day.
Christmas Tree Wedding Photos at City Hall
Each year there is a giant Christmas tree that goes up near Philadelphia City Hall. It adds sparkle and joy in the winter months and also happens to make for a pretty backdrop for a holiday wedding. We stopped by the tree for this bride and groom to take some iconic holiday wedding photos with the twinkling colorful lights. Such a perfect location for these two!
Merry Go Round Wedding Photos
During the winter holiday market in Philadelphia there are all kinds of fun and festive treats and even rides like this carousel. We had to make a quick stop in front of the Merry-Go-Round for a few playful wedding photos.
Wedding Photos on Philadelphia City Hall Staircase
Philadelphia City Hall is a stunning building with a very impressive staircase inside. The winding staircase lends itself to beautiful wedding photos. We stopped on the landing for a few photos with the natural light pouring in from the windows. It was also nice to be inside and warm up for a few photos!
