Picking a spot for a proposal can be a tough decision, but if you are looking for a scenic location Addison Street in Philadelphia is a great option. The 1700 block of Addison Street is one of the most beautiful streets in Philadelphia and a lovely spot for a proposal. Especially when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom! The street is lined with historic brick houses that give a similar feeling of Old City but right near Center City, Philadelphia. The now bride-to-be may not have known the proposal was coming, but her flowery dress went perfectly with the cherry blossoms surrounding them.
When he got down on one knee is was a magic moment and you could feel the couple’s love for each other – it was so infectious!
The proposal wasn’t the only surprise that he had in store for her that day. After saying ‘Yes!’, she turned to see their closest loved ones running towards them. Tears of joy were shed, smiles were on everyone’s faces and the overall enthusiasm for the engagement could be felt all around.
Addison street is one of many places that really makes Philadelphia unique! Similar to Elfreth’s Alley, Addison Street provides historic architecture. But, one of the best things about Addison Street is that it’s not widely known so there are fewer crowds. That makes it a perfect intimate location for a proposal.
It is also a great location no matter the season! The trees that line Addison Street are strewn with small white outdoor lights that are beautiful any night, but especially in the winter. Then in the spring, the trees develop gorgeous pink cherry blossom blooms for that perfect pop of pink. There are hanging baskets under the windows and small gardens outside of houses, which helps amplify the feeling of spring.
Having a photographer for your proposal is a great idea to always remember that very special “I do” moment. Another benefit to having a photographer at your proposal, is that you also get an mini engagement photo session in. After this couple celebrated with their loved ones, we stayed on Addison Street to get some beautiful photos with the spring blooms.
