Hill-Physick House Wedding in Philadelphia, PA

The Hill-Physick House is definitely a top wedding venue to host a micro-wedding in Philadelphia! Located in the Society Hill neighborhood of Philly, the Hill-Physick House is a unique historic wedding venue that was built in 1786. If you are a couple looking for an intimate venue in Philadelphia, then I highly recommend checking this out.

Getting Ready

To start their special day, Ana and Zachary both got ready at the Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown Hotel. Located near their first-look location and their wedding venue, this hotel was convenient and stylish. The dark wooden accents on the hotel room walls helped give the bride and groom’s portraits a regal feeling. Ana’s gorgeous wedding dress and shoes featured lovely floral accents.

The First Look

After getting ready at the Hotel, Ana and Zachary made their way to the 18th-century garden for their first look. With the help of her loved ones, Ana walked to the garden to surprise Zachary. This historic garden is a unique spot in Old City for wedding day photos. Despite a little bit of rain, the couple was able to have some fun and enjoy time together before becoming husband and wife.

Outdoor Wedding Portraits

After spending time in the garden for their wedding portraits, the couple headed out to the cobblestone streets of Old City Philadelphia. The Old City and Society Hill neighborhoods are great for couples looking to add historic architecture to their wedding day photos.

Summertime florals set the stage

The next stop after the couple’s photos was the wedding venue, the Hill-Physick House. This venue is perfect for the couple looking to host a small outdoor wedding. The inside space is lovely and there is a beautiful garden area for a ceremony outside of the house. Regardless of a few bits of rain earlier in the day, the ceremony provided a relaxed and stylish way to celebrate the love of Ana and Zachary. The garden area was the perfect place to celebrate.

The bright pink florals created by Love ‘n Fresh Flowers added a pop of color against the greenery. Love ‘n Fresh Flowers is a local urban flower farm, and I absolutely love seeing local vendors shine!

Outdoor Micro-Wedding Venue in Philadelphia

After the outdoor ceremony, Ana, Zachary and their loved ones made their way to the tent outside of the Hill-Physick House. The tent was decorated with accents of blush pinks and navy blue and twinkling string lights.

A great tip for planning a small Philly wedding is to work with local vendors. They are likely to be familiar with the area and maybe even your venue specifically. Ana and Zachary had Danielle Pasternak as their planner. She was absolutely amazing at keeping everything smooth and held the vision of the couple in mind in the pre-wedding planning and on the day of.

Fun Wedding Ideas

If you are looking for fun wedding ideas for your upcoming day, Ana and Zachary had some great ideas. First, on top of their wedding cake made by Whipped Bakeshop, they featured a cute cake topper that read “Dr. & Dr. Cohle”. Personalized cake toppers are a fun touch and a great way to add meaningful details to your wedding day. Then, as the night was ending, Ana and Zachary snuck away to enjoy some moments together on the swing set. who doesn’t like a good swing?!

I love the relaxed and fun-loving vibe of these photos. What a perfect way to end a fabulous wedding day in Philadelphia!
