Small Philadelphia Wedding

Philadelphia City Hall Wedding

Ruth-Anne and Norman decided on a small Philadelphia Wedding and here is why: “We’ve been to at least a dozen weddings and decided that something low key was right for us. We’re both very close with our immediate families and realized that a wedding at Philadelphia City Hall and an intimate dinner at White Dog Café would allow us to create lasting memories with our families. We discovered that written vows are uncommon at Philadelphia City Hall, but we had our own prepared and our officiant was more than happy to share in the special moment. Now we’re looking forward to celebrating with extended family and friends with a reception and vow renewal in 2020.

Sentimental Details

Another meaningful element was a pendant handmade by Ruth-Anne’s sister, Noel, encapsulating a piece of lily of the valley. We keep this flower in remembrance of our father who passed away in 2017 and during the wedding, the pendant was tied around the bouquet.

Advice to brides planning an intimate wedding

Planning a wedding is no easy task, but we found that it was helpful to allow ourselves to dream a little and incorporate all of the aspects to the intimate wedding that we would enjoy in a big one – such as flowers, professional photography, and both a big gown and a tux. We realized early on that having an intimate wedding would allow us to fully enjoy the experience and made for a very happy bride the weeks and days before the wedding.

How they met!

We met back in the summer of 2016 through a dating app. We were both busy with graduate school at the time and careful sifting of dating profiles led to the perfect match and a magical first date. Three short years later we were on our way to Philadelphia City Hall to apply for a marriage license.
