Justine and Andrew got married at Awbury Arboretum, a perfect bit of nature tucked away in Philadelphia, the city that they love! The couple planned this beautiful summer wedding to be low-key and fun and that’s exactly what it was! It was a day that those most important to Justine and Andrew could come together and celebrate their love for each other. The perfect place for their wedding day was on the wrap-around porch and lush lawns of the Cope House at this sweet nature-filled venue.
Portico’s Cope House has historic charm and makes a lovely place for getting ready. I love the look Justine put together for her wedding day. She found just the right dress at Bijou Bridal with a gorgeous lace-up back and paired it with her Swedish Hasbeens clogs and an amazing wildflower-inspired bouquet to complete her elegant, boho bridal look.
Just before their first look, Justine opened a gift from her soon-to-be husband. It was a stunning wooden jewelry box handcrafted by the groom himself with their wedding day engraved inside. How special is that? I am a sucker for a handmade gift!
Justine & Andrew decided to have a first look and do all of their formal photos at their venue before their ceremony. They had a private moment on the porch where they saw each other for the first time and then we walked about the property for couples photos and strolled through the big, green meadow.
They had an outside ceremony on the back lawn tucked up against the trees.
Cocktail hour at Portico is always a treat! Birchtree, their exclusive caterer, offers all kinds of delectable delights, not to mention delicious summer cocktails!
Justine & Andrew each have dogs that they adore and of course, they included them as honored guests at their cocktail hour. It is a big bonus for dog lovers that Awbury Arboretum is dog-friendly!
Their tented reception was beautifully decorated with delightful pops of color from their amazing garden-fresh florals. They chose to have a big farm table, instead of a sweetheart table, where the bride & groom sat with their entire wedding party. They even chose to have their meal served family-style, which was a nice touch and added to the welcoming and love-filled meal.
The Curbside Creamery pulled up to Portico after dinner, much to the delight of their wedding guests, and soon everyone had waffle cones overflowing with their favorite flavors. It was defiantly a hit!
