Did you know that you can have a wedding at The Rodin Museum in Philadelphia? This city is full of interesting and historic museums, including science museums, history museums, and art museums. Many of these museums have wonderfully designed spaces that allow special events and weddings to be held. The Rodin Museum is situated right on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in center city of Philadelphia. You can have the whole space for your wedding or you can enjoy The Dorrance H. Hamilton Garden. Wedding couples who are having weddings at other venues in the city sometimes opt to get a photo permit for the Rodin Garden to do their formal photos such as wedding party, family, and couples photos. It is a convenient and pleasant space for Philadelphia wedding photos. This couple decided to go with the outside garden patio for their small Philadelphia wedding ceremony and all the stars aligned for lovely weather and a seamless day!
With less than 10 guests, the couple kept it simple. They wanted a beautiful Philadelphia location to say their vows, someplace that felt special. They didn’t have to bring a single decoration to the space because it was already divinely styled with carefully planted greenery, artwork, and of course the architecture of the museum building itself. Even outside of the garden area, the steps and entrance leading up to the museum are aesthetically pleasing and lovely for special occasion photos. This was my first time photographing a micro ceremony in the garden here and I hope it’s not my last. For those couples thinking about a Philadelphia park location for the small ceremony, this should be on your list of places to consider.
Saying “I do” and expressing your love and commitment to one another is such a monumental moment and to be able to do this surrounded by a lush green canopy of trees, with flowers blooming and family looking on was exceptional. We chose a shady place in the garden for the ceremony itself as it was a pretty bright and sunny day and the shelter of the shade was refreshing and welcoming. The Rodin Museum garden offers an oasis in the middle of the parkway. The space is tranquil and unlike any other Philadelphia garden.
After a delightful and emotional ceremony with both heartfelt words and laughter, the marriage license was signed and it was official! This couple beamed with joy as they hugged and celebrated with their loved ones. One of the joys of having a small ceremony is that you get to spend time with your guests. There is no rushing around from person to person barely getting time to say hello. With a smaller guest list, you really to be in the moment with guests. Then it was time for wedding photos at The Rodin Garden. They only had a ceremony, which was short and sweet, and wedding day photos for the couple and their family on the museum grounds. After this was complete, they headed off the celebrate together with a delicious meal.
If you are planning a Philadelphia micro wedding there are so many ways to go and so many venues to choose from. You could book a private room in a restaurant, or a park location, or seek out venues that offer smaller wedding packages. This couple decided to have the intimate wedding ceremony in the Rodin Museum garden, an ethereal space for exchanging vows. The one unpredictable factor in choosing an outside space for the wedding ceremony is the weather! As we all know, mother nature can sometimes surprise us, and choosing a rain or shine outside space for your wedding ceremony is a bit of a gamble. Luckily the powers that be shinned down on this couple and they had an absolutely impeccable celebration of their love with nothing but sunshine and not a cloud in the sky.
I love the bouquets these brides had for their wedding day. They were both unique and bursting with colors and textures giving them a lively summer feel. The colors played nicely with their outfits and mirrored the floral pattern of the dress. Even when choosing a small wedding ceremony that’s a bit more casual, having a flower bouquet adds a traditional and symbolic touch that I will always love. I adore the wildflower feel of the arrangements and the pretty purple ribbons that tied them together. They chose the perfect blooms for their day.
