Wedding Vibe: summer freshness and glamour

Meghan and Eric waited almost 2 years for their wedding day after having to postpone it twice. When the day finally arrived there was one main thing they wanted out of their day… to just have fun! And with their family and friends by their side, they had a perfect day for a celebration at the Cira Centre.
Planning for a wedding day can be difficult, especially when there are unexpected curveballs thrown your way like Meghan and Eric had. Despite a few obstacles, they had a great way to keep up the excitement for their wedding day:
“The most important thing to us in the planning was staying positive regardless of what was thrown our way. Two postponements due to COVID and a venue remodel later, we’re just happy to finally be celebrating!”
For their wedding, Meghan and Eric wanted to be sure to include their loved ones wherever possible. Meghan had her grandmother’s handkerchief with her, and wore her pearl ring during the ceremony. Now that the wedding day had finally arrived, the bride couldn’t have been more excited to be getting ready. With her gorgeous wedding dress and beautiful white rose bouquet by Beautiful Blooms, it was time to go see her groom!
After getting ready, the bride and groom headed to The Merchants’ Exchange Building located in Old City Philadelphia for their first look. The beautiful Greek Revival style of this building is the perfect backdrop for couple’s looking to add a splash of elegance to their formal photos.
I just love the look of excitement on both of their faces!
After spending some time together one on one at The Merchants’ Exchange building, the bride and groom walked around the corner to the First Bank of the United States to meet up with their wedding party. The bridal parties cinnamon colored dresses, as well as the bride’s white wedding gown, are the perfect pop of color against the gray marble façade.
For many couples getting married in Philadelphia, one important backdrop when thinking about wedding photos is a picture with the Philadelphia Skyline. While there are many locations throughout the city to get a picture with the skyline, the Cira Centre Atrium offers a more unique view point. Located near 30th Street Train Station, the large glass windows provide the perfect view of Center City.
Tell us about your wedding venue and why you chose it?
“We chose the venue Cira Centre Atrium because of the stunning view of the city skyline and the unique event space it offers. Picking our venue, we knew we didn’t want a standard ‘ballroom’. When we toured the venue, we really were drawn to how open and light everything was.”
Not only was the city skyline the backdrop for some of the photos, but thanks to the layout of the Cira Centre Atrium it was also the backdrop of their ceremony and reception!
There were so many highlights to this wedding day, but one of them was definitely the food! Garces Events of Philadelphia did a spectacular job offering fresh and exciting delights from cocktail hour through the formal sit-down dinner. Just look at how yummy those hors-d’œuvre look!
After the ceremony and cocktail hour, guests made their way back to the Atrium for a lovely sit-down meal and for the dance party to begin. Meghan and Eric included special personal touches all throughout their day and especially in their reception area. With custom cake knives, personalized name plates and a card at the table to encourage their loved ones to take pictures throughout the night to share with them. One of the most important things to the couple was including their loved ones wherever they could:
“We had a memory table at our venue, showcasing our loved ones’ wedding photos. We chose to place this table close to our sweetheart table, so that the people we love the most were closest to us, whether they were able to join us or not.”
After cocktail hour, the bride and groom made their way to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife, as well as their father/daughter and mother/son dances. The wide open area of the Cira Centre Atrium made a perfect space for the dance floor. Once everyone settled into their seats, it was time for the champagne toast and touching words to celebrate the couple from their wedding party.
One of the most important things for Meghan and Eric’s wedding day was for their guests to have fun. And their DJ from Off the Chart Entertainment certainly knew how to get the party started! Once the dance floor opened, the party never stopped. The dancing and singing were electric and all of the guests had a blast. There was a brief pause in the dancing to cut the cake, but who wouldn’t want to stop and take a look at that gorgeous cake from Brendenbeck’s bakery!
While the wedding day was coming to an end, Meghan and Eric made sure to sneak out of their wedding for one final moment with the city skyline. At the top of the Cira Centre, there is another great spot for a photo with the Philly skyline at night. Just a perfect way to end a perfect wedding day!
