This Cira Green Wedding ceremony in Philadelphia PA was on an outside rooftop park with some of the best skyline views in the city! Cira Green is not far from 30th Street Station and has some pretty impressive views of the Schuylkill River and the skyscrapers of downtown. It is an incredible location to say your “I do’s” and Meg and Eric got a lovely sunny day for their park wedding.
Meg shares how and why the decided to have their wedding ceremony at Cira Green:
“Due to the unforeseen circumstances surrounding the pandemic, we were forced to postpone our original plans of a 135 guest wedding to a later date. Since October 3rd had a really special meaning to us (Meghan’s grandparent’s anniversary), we decided to have a mini ceremony with just our immediate family in the outdoor venue at Cira Green. We chose Cira Green because of the beautiful view of our favorite city, and the fact that it was outdoors making it safer for our guests.”
“Family is very important to us and we wanted to honor our loved ones who were unable to be there. Meghan had her Nanny’s handkerchief and ring, while Eric wore his Papa’s Movado watch. We also gave the very important job of ring bearer to Meghan’s Poppy, who we now share October 3rd as an anniversary with!”
“We met in December of 2011. I had just come back from studying abroad in London, and was meeting Eric’s sister, Amanda, who joined the sorority that I was already a part of. During this meeting, Amanda introduced us. Over the next couple of weeks, we talked more and had our first official date in February of 2012. We have been together ever since!”
“Eric proposed on October 30, 2018 which was a completely random Tuesday after work. We were walking next to the Reedy River in Greenville, South Carolina and went through an open air pavilion. All of a sudden he turned to me, and had this thoughtful speech prepared. He got on one knee and popped the question! I honestly think I may have blacked out because I was so surprised. My nails weren’t even done! After wiping away the ugly tears, we had a very romantic dinner at Larkin’s on the River. We called our families immediately after, who were all in on the surprise.”
“The most challenging part of our wedding planning was coming up with an alternate plan because of the pandemic. We wanted to celebrate each other, but we wanted to make sure all of our friends and family stay healthy and safe. We were very lucky that all of our vendors had the same date open in May of 2021 to postpone everything to. We are looking forward to dancing the night away with everyone on our new date (fingers crossed!). As far as our intimate ceremony on October 3rd, the best part of the day was saying our vows. It was a surreal feeling and we both could not stop smiling. The Jetson’s TV show and the train going by really made for a light, relaxed ceremony.”
