This winter engagement session in Philadelphia was festive and fun!
Sometimes couples ask how to choose an engagement session location and here is how Julie and Dan chose their locations in Philadelphia.
“Julie and I have always been drawn to the classics and to the water, which made our location selection in Philadelphia a very exciting one. When rain was in the forecast for the morning, we wanted to make sure we were close to a few covered areas. Miraculously, the rain held out for the whole session. We were able to get shots on the cobblestone streets and by the river and we wrapped up the shoot just as the drops started to fall! “
I am so happy the weather cooperated and we were able to get beautiful photos and have fun!
Head House Square Engagement Photos
We started off the photo session at Headhouse Square in Philadelphia where Christmas trees made a wonderful backdrop for these two!
Cute Cobblestone Streets in Old City Philadelphia
The next stop was a quick walk to classic Old City cobblestone street perfect for a Philadelphia engagement session. These cute streets are a classic engagement photo stop!
Spruce Street Harbor Park Engagement Photos
Philadelphia has historic and breathtaking views. Some of my favorite places are along the water here on the banks of the Delaware River and of the majestic Benjamin Franklin Bridge. Even on a chilly, wintery day, there is such beauty by the riverside at Spruce Street Harbor Park. I am happy this was one of our stops for their photos.
How They Met
Julie shares how their fateful crossing of paths that lead to this day:
“We met while volunteering at a week-long children’s oncology camp in New Jersey. Julie has been attending since she was 13 years old after her brother passed away from cancer and had returned over the years as a counselor. Dan heard about camp for many years from his friends who were also counselors and finally decided to join the fun in 2015. We went on our first date about a month later and have been together ever since.
Independence Seaport Museum Philadelphia Engagement Photos
Our final stop for their winter engagement session in Philadelphia was in front of one of the ships of the Independence Seaport Museum. The strength of the nautical backdrop and industrial feel made an ideal backdrop for the last location of Julie and Dan’s photos.
How He Proposed!
“After over four years of dating and four more years of camp, we decided to get engaged. We planned an engagement vacation in Bermuda to cap off our summer. Dan planned an afternoon sailing cruise where he popped the question on the way back to shore as the sun was setting over the Atlantic.”
Well, this proposal sounds pretty much perfect!
