Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Wedding, Philadelphia, PA {Madison&Adam}

It was such a treat to photograph Madison & Adam’s inspiring Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts wedding. What a stunning venue for photos and ceremony and reception.

Getting Ready at Le Méridien Philadelphia

Madison and Adam both got ready at the lovely Le Meridien. It is the ideal hotel for your PAFA wedding, conveniently located and offers a wonderful atmosphere to get ready for your big day! I adored all of Madisons details and I think we all fell in love with her wedding dress. She chose to ware her grandmothers beaded gown which was fit her perfectly. Weddings are a rite of passage often a time to bring generations together. Including her grandmother’s dress in her wedding day was such a thoughtful and beautiful way to honor her family and walk down the aisle in style.

First Look Outside PAFA

Their spring wedding was blessed with sunshine and we were able to do their sweet “first look” outside of PAFA, then wander through the galleries of the Art Museum for their couples portraits.

Formal Photos with their Wedding Party

We took advantage of the beautiful weather and had their groomsmen and bridesmaids photos outside. We enjoyed the group photos and mixed up the formal with fun! Don’t you just love the bridesmaids cute skirt and top separates? This is a trend is I can get on board with. They opted to mix and match from BHLDN and they pair so nicely with the brides dress!

I chatted with Madison to hear a little bit about their love story that brought them to their amazing Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts wedding and here is what she shared:

How did you meet?

I was at a bar on U street in DC and ran into my friend Joel from Penn State who was in town visiting his friend from high school, Adam. Adam and I started talking, I invited him to a sketchy techo bar with some friends, exchanged numbers and the rest is history….it also turned out we had a lot of friends in common

When did you know he was “the one”?

Our real answer to this is probably not shareable……. the shareable answer is that for me that to be honest, I knew on our first date, not obviously but I had a feeling; for Adam, it was on our California trip before I left for graduate school; or when we were fighting about politics

How did he propose?

One night on East Capitol street by the US Capitol, I had talked our way passed the two other spots he was considering and it was the last romantic spot before we got to dinner with our parents.

Tell me about a pivotal point in your relationship?

We broke up once, because we weren’t communicating. Six months later, we hosted a passover dinner together (as ex’s…..not advice I would give people btw); and then got back together and discussed what had gone wrong in round 1…. round two was much stronger because of it (still going strong)
