This Terrain Gardens at Delval Wedding was a delight. Terrain has three locations in Pennsylvania where you can host your wedding: Glen Mills PA, Doylestown PA, and Devon PA. Each has its own unique layout but all have a similar magical garden style. Located at 2100 Lower State Road Doylestown, PA this venue is tucked near by the Delaware Valley University’s campus. There is a retail store that offers an amazing collection of curated home decor filled with nature-inspired candles, tasty foods, gifts, garden gear, and all kinds of carefully curated and interesting finds you will want to take home with you! There is an inspiring outside nursery with impressive plants and pots and patio decorations that will have you wanting to go home and redesign your living space. This area can also be used for wedding day photos and it becomes a cool seasonal backdrop on a wedding day. In the fall it might be filled with pumpkins and in the winter perhaps garland and Christmas trees. The impeccable style is always spot on. It’s definitely a fun outside place to take wedding photos as it seems to embody effortless beauty with an evelated boho style.
The bride and groom got ready at the same location and the groom gifted the bride a beautiful necklace in person before their day got started. What a sweet and thoughtful touch and an emotional moment. Once they were dressed head to toe, if was off to the Terrain Delval wedding venue were friends and family were excitedly awaiting their arrival for their outdoor ceremony and reception.
The bride had beautiful henna adorning her hands. The groom too had henna done. He had the bride’s name pictured on his palm. What a sweet touch and testament to his love for his bride.
Terrain Delval is an inspiring venue for couples’ photos. There are intriguing nooks and crannies and wonderfully landscaped areas that lend themselves to wedding photos. From the barn doors to the altar, from the outdoor garden center to the inside spaces we had plenty of places to choose from. Although it was fall when they had their wedding there was lots of greenery and even flowers in bloom! I love a venue that offers a variety of photo locations as it saves you from having to do a whole lot of running around on your wedding day. We took full advantage of the outdoor space of this nature-forward Doylestown Pa wedding venue.
I love the elegant and playful look this couple chose for their wedding day. The bride wore a stunning sleeveless dress from Lulus which she paired with colorful floral shoes. The groom’s attire was from Spear & Mckay and his fitted blue suit was a perfect match for the chic yet fun style. His tie and pocket square both had a colorful pattern of flowers similar to the bride’s shoes. Their looks complimented each other and set the tone for their unforgettable garden-inspired wedding day.
What a welcoming outside ceremony space! I love that this couple decided to do a circular setup with the seating. Have you ever seen this before? It’s an uncommon ceremony setup, but one that I would encourage others to consider. It really felt like the guests were surrounding the couple with their love and somehow it felt more intimate and warm than the traditional layout with rows facing forward. Their setup was thoughtful and cozy and the handmade wirework pavilion framed the area with a sense of strength and beauty. The festive market lights added a touch of whimsy and the natural and seasonal installations and elements created a peaceful and organic backdrop. Pennsylvania can have some pretty chilly winters so having an outside wedding ceremony before the cold feels extra special.
Once the couple said their vows and exchanged rings it was time to celebrate. Cocktail hour is one of my favorite parts of a wedding day. It’s time to pop the bubbly and exhale. They did it! The air is still buzzing with the excitement and emotion of the ceremony and the love of the couple and guests mix and mingle freely, reuniting with friends and family or meeting for the first time. Cocktail hour at Terrain at Delval is exceptional, serving delicious and unexpected bites! Their cocktail hour was indoor and outdoor happily spilling over onto the patio for a variety of buffet-style eats and passed tasty hors d’oeuvres. This venue seamlessly merges its indoor and open-air spaces, giving an expensive and celebratory feel. The covered porch offers welcome shade and just beyond that there is a fire pit area that, at the end of the night, was used to roast marshmallows for s’mores. The kids and adults alike enjoy this memorable sweet treat. The couple decided to do their family formal photos during the first part of cocktail hour right after the ceremony but they still had plenty of time to enjoy their cocktail hour and sip champagne with the guests.
The food at Terrain’s wedding venue is a culinary delight! Their presentation, creativity, and the freshness of the food make it an unforgettable meal. The food is definitely one of the many reasons Terrain is one of the best Doylestown wedding venues for weddings large and small. The guests enjoyed dinner while listening to heartfelt speeches and indulging in the tasty coursed meal.
The reception space at Terrain at Delval has a wonderful feel. I love the long wooden farm tables and the reclaimed wood floors. The white walls and ceiling contrast well with the natural wood and the skylights allow natural light to stream in.
Studio Spring was the floral designer for this Terrain Gardens at Delval wedding day and I have to say they did not disappoint. Their attention to detail and sense of color and design really elevated the wedding day with each bloom. The carefully arranged flowers added an artful touch that only florals can exude. I loved the bud vases for the reception decor and the attentive placement of the flowers throughout the entire day. From the ceremony to cocktail hour, they seemed to be an intertwined thread of love from start to finish.
What a fun and personal idea for a guest book. Everyone seemed to really have a good time taking photos of each other with the instant camera and writing sweet notes to the couple. Not only is it an entertaining activity for wedding goers, but also a memory book that the bride and groom will be able to look back upon years from now and remember all the friends and family who attended and celebrated with them.
After dinner the curtain between the dining room was pulled back and the space that was used for cocktail hour then became the dance floor, giving the guests plenty of room to boogie. I appreciated the spaciousness and thoughtfulness of this design offering a seamless flow for the wedding day. This Terrain Gardens Delval Wedding had a wonderful layout and just the right balance of formalities and fun!
Dancing can really work up an appetite! Luckily the bride and groom thought ahead and planned a wonderful surprise for the guests. There was a pizza truck from some of the best Philadelphia Pizza around that was served up hot and delicious right out of the wood-fired oven. It was a welcome refreshment at the end of the night. If you have a longer or later reception definitely consider offering your guests a late-night snack – it will surely be appreciated. I mean who doesn’t like Pizza at a wedding? Check out the clever stencil the groom created by hand on each pizza box “Love at First Slice” is such a thoughtful and personal touch that expresses their love for pizza and each other.
