This Surprise Engagement at Elfreth’s Alley in Philadelphia was everything you could want in a proposal. I loved seeing the surprise, excitement and joy when he got down on one knee and popped the question “Will you Marry me?”
With an excited “Yes!” it was a sealed deal and this sweet couple was officially engaged! There are not too many moments in life that have the same excitement, promise and anticipation as a proposal and I absolutely love being there to photograph these life-changing moments.
The narrow streets of Old City in Philadelphia are full of cobblestone, brick and charm. Elfreth’s Alley is a popular location for visitors and for photos and I am sure you can see why. This summer day was the ideal time to share this moment and for this couple to step into the next chapter of their lives together.
If you are brainstorming ideas for where to have your down-on-one-knee proposal moment and you are considering Old City in Philadelphia add Elfreth’s Alley to your list. Just one thing to consider is it can be quite crowded there are it is a popular tourist destination. So if you are going for something quiet and secluded this is not the spot to pick. There are many other pretty streets that are quieter if that is a priority. Check out this blog post for the best locations for a marriage proposal in Philadelphia.
After we took couples photos at Elfreth’s Alley we made our way over to Race Street Pier which was close enough to walk. Race Street Pier is a public park on the banks of the river with stunning views. It can be nice to go to more than one location for photos. The Delaware River and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge are hard not to love. It’s a scenic Philadelphia location for engagement photos warm weather, sunshine and love in the air made it all the better.
