Wedding Vibe: Philadelphia Restaurant Wedding, Intimate Springtime wedding
I absolutely loved Melissa & Oran’s wedding day! It was a small gathering of family and friends but overflowing with love and excitement.
When I asked the couple about their vision for their wedding day this is what they shared: “We kept the ceremony super intimate so that we could actually be present in the moment and not feel overwhelmed by a large wedding. We were so excited to just keep it simple and focus on the significance of this step in our relationship. ”
They both got ready right downtown at The Notery Hotel in Philadelphia then Melissa and Oran walked over to city hall for a few couples photos before the wedding ceremony.
Philadelphia City Hall is such a beautiful location for wedding photos. The architecture of the building is lovely. From the subway stops to the grand archways leading into the courtyard there are so many places for couples photos.
“Oran and I met through friends. I worked with a nurse who does jiu jitsu with Oran and she introduced us one night when we met with a group of people at a bar in Philly. It only took us a few dates to feel like we really had a good thing. In only a few months we were talking about kids and marriage. After 11 months of dating Oran proposed to me when we were on a camping trip up in the Poconos. We went for a hike and he popped the question in the woods on a secluded trail. It was perfect and private and very “us”.
Osteria is an amazing Italian restaurant in Philadelphia with an outstanding menu and welcoming ambiance. Melissa & Oran had their ceremony in the light-filled greenhouse followed by a delicious reception dinner.
“When Oran and I met we were both living in Philadelphia at the time. Shortly after we started dating Oran bought a house in the Lehigh Valley and I moved up there with him after our engagement. When we were deciding on a place to get married it seemed very appropriate that we go back to where it all began. We looked for places all around the city but found Osteria to be the perfect spot with a charming greenhouse space for our ceremony. The funny thing is that Oran lived in the building above Osteria so we really went back to exactly where we used to spend all of our time together when we were first dating.”
I can’t think of a better reason to choose an Osteria Restaurant Wedding in Philadelphia. What a sweet story!
There are so many elements that make a wedding day special. Including friends and family is one of them.
“This past Christmas we asked my younger brother, Drew, to be our officiant for our ceremony. I have always felt lucky to have a brother I get along with. As we’ve gotten older he has become more and more of a friend and support person in my life. It will be so special to have him officiate and be a part of the wedding.”
Osteria offers a very unique dining experience. After the ceremony, we were led through the restaurant and into the back. There was an amazing table that seats 14 tucked between the ovens and workspace. The wine started flowing and an incredible family-style meal was served. It was such a fun and unique setting for a meal and felt extra special. If you have not been, add this to your list of where to dine in Philadelphia!
