Eileen and Daniel shared a first look moment before their ceremony. They decided to do it right in the ceremony location by the river. So many smiles and so much love in this sweet moment. The bride’s dress reveal and the reality settling in that they will soon be standing together at the altar saying their vows to each other were so exciting and emotional.
I can’t think of another location in Philadelphia that is more filled with trees and trails and creeks than the Wissahickon Park. The Valley Green Inn is a one-of-a-kind location for those whose happy place is the woods. The lush forest and memorizing creek are such a welcoming backdrop for a wedding ceremony and make for beautiful photos. Eileen and Daniel chose this unique inn that felt like a breath of fresh air.
Despite being in the same room on occasion, and in the same building almost all the time, Eileen and Daniel’s paths didn’t cross at Tyler School of Art. It took a few more months and a whole museum to bring them together. In 2017, after leaving graduate school, Eileen was working in the Print and Photography department at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Daniel, teaching and preparing for his thesis exhibition, was in his last year at Tyler. Being the good professor he is, Daniel brought his undergrad class to see some photographs in the museum’s study room–the one that Eileen was in charge of running. With a shared love for art, travel, family, and curiosity, they kept in touch. A few months later he invited her to attend his thesis exhibition, and she said yes (positive foreshadowing!). They went on a date and another shortly after, then another, and another, and another… They plan to go on dates forever.
Eileen’s wedding dress was a stunner! The lacey top and flowing training were beautifully tailored for her wedding day. Classic and beautiful. I also love how Daniel’s tie carried on the flower theme with the floral design – just perfect for their day.
One of my favorite things about Valley Green Inn is the ceremony space that is right along the river. I can’t think of a more peaceful place to say vows to each other than next to the wonderful Wissahickon waters. Water seems to be such a natural gathering place but a surprisingly uncommon location for a ceremony.
If you loved their Valley Green Inn Ceremony, you are sure to love their welcoming reception. The reception was hosted in the open tent just across the path that is attached to the historic inn. The open sides of the tent really allow you to enjoy the surroundings while being protect from rainy weather or too much sun. This laidback setup created a relaxed and easygoing atmosphere for their celebration. I adore the way they decored their reception space simple and beautiful. Their farm fresh floral arrangements on the table had a wildflower feel and were perfectly arranged in lovely mismatched vases. Flowers also decorated their table cards and seating chart.
Their first dance was as sweet as ever, captivating their friends and family and setting the tone for all the years to come.
After the sweet heartfelt and funny speeches and champagne toasts, it was time to get up out of the chairs and dance!
Cake cutting is always a highlight, but especially when it is a Bredenbeck’s cake! You just can’t beat beautiful and delicious. After you cut the cake then you eat the cake!
