I once again had the pleasure to join Aluna Adventures on their latest yoga retreat to Guatemala and document the journey. We traveled to a magical Lake Atitlan and explored the inner and outer worlds! The accommodations were at the lovely Isla Verde. There is something wonderfully calming about being along this mystic body of water with powerful volcanoes close by. The breathtaking beauty lifts your spirits at first sight. We arrived at night in the dark, traveling across the lake by boat with no idea what our surroundings looked like. It was such a treat to wake up to this! There was delious food to be tasted, delicious sights to drink in and inspiring people to meet. We rode in the back of pick-up trucks along windy roads, hiked mountain trails, explored markets, road in taxi boats and tuk tuks and of course practiced yoga. The timing of the trip aligned with the Day of the Dead celebration that is held each year to celebrate those who have passed to the other side. We were able to see and feel the celebration and get a peek into the traditions. Aluna Adventure is close to my heart, each journey is transformative. You will learn so much about the world we live in and the world within ourselves.
