This Philadelphia gem is truly a charming wedding venue. It is quietly tucked away in the Germantown area of Philadelphia. When asked why she selected this venue, Natalie said, “Portico seemed like the perfect place to hold our special day. We are in love with the space and how it promotes healthy inclusion of the community and neighborhoods surrounding the arboretum.” The natural beauty of the surroundings and the warm and welcoming feel makes it easy to see why this was their top pick.

Getting ready, formal photos, ceremony and reception were all at the arboretum. The grounds are magnificent for photos. I love the big porch and the grand old trees.

Wedding Party

I adore Natalie’s choice of bridesmaid dresses. The soft blush and the bold flowers are a perfect combination. On the groom’s side, they decided to go without jackets. The more relaxed feel was a great fit for their laid-back, yet stylish feel.

Outside Ceremony

The summertime lends itself to outside wedding ceremonies. These two said their vows on a carpet of grass in a cove of trees. The bride highlighted one of the most meaningful parts of their ceremony, “For our ceremony, we are doing a handfasting tradition. This is based on many traditional rituals with European/celtic roots symbolizing joining of hands of two willing individuals. I am thankful to incorporate such a meaningful tradition to start of our forever love story!”

Tented Reception at Portico

The tented reception was decorated with greenery and twinkle lights for the centerpieces. The heartfelt toasts included a sweet serenade by one of their guests.

Summer Wedding

This summer wedding allowed guests to enjoy the evening. They danced and mingled along the porch enjoying the fresh night air while celebrating Natalie and Matt’s union. What a lovely night!
